Review: Haku's
Let your taste buds take a walk on the flavorful side with these distinctive and tempting dips and Indian delicacies that are perfect for any occasion.
Haku's started two years back by the mother daughter duo, Sangita Chodari and Esha Chodari respectively. Operating from Malabar Hill, Mumbai Mrs. Chodari specializes in Indian sweets and Ms. Chodari makes fantastic dips to accompany knick -knacks in makingf.
Starting off with just a few sweets to now running a full fledged business, their food is made from fresh ingredients.
Truly homemade the sweets and dips are made without any artificial colours or preservatives due to which their entree has a short shelf life lasting for maximum 2days .
The quality of the ingredients is not compromised. For example their dry fruits are usually sourced from Raman Vithal or Champakwadi.
Each order is taken 1 or 2 days prior and delivered to the client in air tight containers which is again personalized by the duo itself.
The Hungry Tummy got an opportunity to taste their delicacy over the weekend and we had a complete blast and left the place feeling contented.
To start off with, we had the Rasgulla or the Roshogulla as the Bengali's say it.
These 'gulla's' were heavenly. They were well prepared. They were not to sweet like the ones that are usually had outside. These 'gulla' filled with 'ras' were soft and melt in your mouth. We undoubtedly enjoyed this one and could not stop our self from grabbing the second one too.

We all know the benefits of jaggery and how good it is for the health in substitution to sugar. Well, Haku's experimented something different which will be up on their list soon, The Hungry Tummy was lucky to try the same first. Jaggery Rasgulla it is!! Rasgulla can be healthy too. These soft balls melt in your mouth covered in silky smooth jaggery syrup. One can taste the jaggery in these rasgullas and it was a delight having them. We were hesitant having it before but after having one we would have regretted not tasting the same. This one is surely a hit if you love jaggery and rasgulla as they definitely make an interesting combination.

One Bengali mithai that is not only delicious but healthy too is the rose sandesh. One famous sweet made from paneer which makes it soft. The most popular sweet prepared by Haku's is the rose sandesh, and we know why ! The Hungry Tummy got an opportunity to have the mithai and we indeed relished it. They are soft and melt in your mouth. One can easily have couple of these without knowing. Now we know why everyone is raging about these small but delicious sweets.

Dips for all party and we believe no part is ever complete if a plate of dips and chips are not served to us.
As we said Haku's also prepares amazing dips too and we tasted a few.
We tried their two best selling dips the roasted bell pepper dip and the olive harrisa dip. At the end we found it difficult to say which one of the two was the best as both were equally good and tasteful.
The roasted bell pepper dip is made from bell peppers which are roasted, grinded and mixed with Greek yogurt and herbs and this dip when served with bread sticks, laavash or biscuits makes it super tasty. We assure you that this classic and bright dip which is not only healthy but rich in its flavour and ingredients is going to be a one of the best starter at your next party.
The olive harrisa is definitely a hit according to us. This bright green dip is an intense combination of rich yogurt, almonds, fresh herbs and olives. If you are a fan of olives you are surely going to like this one ! This dip can not only be had with chips but can also be applied on your bread for sandwiches, burgers and even with your veggies. The taste is surely unusual making us dig into it.
